When our website URL changes, you will need to update the URL in your DocStar Client Application to ensure continued functionality. This will affect: Document Uploading, Office Integration, Print Import, Scanning with a scanner and more. Follow the steps below to update the settings properly.

NOTE: You may need to contact your IT to assist if you don’t have the windows permissions to do this.


Step 1: Open the DocStar Client Application

  1. Locate the DocStar Client Application in your system tray (see screenshot below).
  2. Click on the icon to open the application.

Step 2: Update the URL in the Login Tab

  1. Navigate to the Login Tab.
  2. Locate the field where the current URL is set (Old URL: https://ecmcloud.piftech.com/eclipseweb).
    • Replace it with the New URL: https://ecmcloud.vitalecm.com/eclipseweb.
  3. Ensure you use the same username that was previously entered.
  4. Click Log In.
  5. A pop-up will prompt you to log into DocStar—enter your credentials as needed.
  6. Once the pop-up process is complete, you should see two green check marks, confirming a successful update.

Step 3: Update the URL in the Configure Service Tab

  1. Click on the Configure Service Tab.
  2. Locate the Server URL field, which contains the old URL (Old URL: https://ecmcloud.piftech.com/eclipseweb).
    • Update it to New URL: https://ecmcloud.vitalecm.com/eclipseweb.
  3. Ensure you use the same username that was previously entered.
  4. Click Log In.
  5. A pop-up will prompt you to log into DocStar—enter your credentials as needed.
  6. Once the pop-up process is complete, you should see two green check marks, confirming a successful update.

Step 4: Restart Your Computer To ensure all services are restarted properly:

  1. Close all applications.
  2. Click Start > Restart on your computer.
  3. Once restarted, open the DocStar Client Application again to confirm it connects to the new URL.
